Seal 16 - The Second Pentacle of Mercury - This pentacle is believed to enable the achievement of the impossible and the supernatural. I also found sources cautioning that the proper use of the seal is considered “witchcraft”. The seal needs to be kept close to the body. Old traditions relate this seal to the star sign of Mercury, associated with games, sports and even kind mischief.

This talisman is made from 925 sterling silver and measures approx. 25mm in diameter. The seal hangs on a 45cm sterling silver hallmarked chain. The drawing on the seal is of a double bordered circle crossed by two lines in the middle of the inner circle. Between the lines are two words formed from the Hebrew letters ‘Yud-Beit-Beit’ and ‘Chaf-Alef-Vav’. I found sources claiming these are names of spirits. In between the circle’s two borders are found the letters ‘Alef’ (12 o’clock) , ‘Vav’ (3 o’clock), ‘Lamed’ (6 ’clock) and ‘Beit’ (9 o’clock).
