Red String - The thread in this bracelet symbolizes the red string worn by Kabalists in order to gain protection from the Evil Eye and bring its bearer good fortune.

In kabbalah tradition, quantities of red thread are wrapped seven times around the tomb of the Hebrew Biblical matriarch, Rachel, which is in Bethlehem. In the Torah Rachel is told to be the second beloved wife of Jacob. She gave birth to his son Joseph after long years of being childless (Joseph was her only son and is considered in Jewish and Kabbalist tradition to have been blessed with great fortune - See Ben Porat). Jewish tradition also tells that while she was barren Rachel never envied Jacob’s first wife, her sister Lea, for bearing children, hence the protective qualities of the red string to avert the bad energies of the Evil Eye and protect one from negativity, both afflicted and inflicted.

The red string is traditionally worn on the left arm, since the left side of the body contains the heart, and so the emotion, both good and bad. By wearing it the believers protect themselves from the negative and selfish urges.
